Course Objective

To study the view of Islam on economy and to compare it with Judaism, Christianity and other religions; To clarify the approaches of Islam and other religions to the economical systems by analyzing the economical crises around the world and explaining the fluctuation of economical, financial manufacturing capacity.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   They get knowledge about economical theories of living religions like Christianity, Islam and especially Judaism.
2   They can explain the structure and main features of history of Islamic economy.
3   They question the economical structure of Islam.
4   They analyze the economy of Islam.
5   They compare the current economical systems with the economical approaches of living religions and Islam.

1 Introduction: Aims, Importance, Contents and references of the Subject.
2 The relation between Economy and other sciences; Economy - Religion relation.
3 World Economy in Time tunnel : 0 -1000
4 Economy in general in Judaism, Christianity and other religions.
5 The effects of western developments to the rest of the world
6 Economy in Islam.
7 Sources of income and main expenditures in Islam
8 Midterm Exam
9 Land, soil, and agriculture in Islam.
10 Trade in Islam.
11 Halal income in Islam and other religions.
12 Comparison: Margin, payment over and above, stock market, stock certificates, insurance.
13 Comparison: interest, Inflation, late charge, exchange, Banking.
14 General review.
