Course Objective

To show main thoughts and approaches in the philosophy of social sciences and to examine and compare the two opposite schools, 'subjectivist' vs. 'objectivist' paradigms, in the area.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will learn general characteristics of the philosophy of social sciences.
2   They will understand main approaches in the philosophy of religion.
3   They will compare the two opposite schools, 'subjectivist' vs. 'objectivist' paradigms, in the area.
4   They will examine main issues in both paradigms.
5   They will discuss new paradigm endeavours by contemporary social scientists.
