Course Objective

This career development course is designed to improve the ability of students to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, competence in creating effective resumes and engaging in fruitful job searches. The course allows for practicing and developing skills required for successful interviews and written communications. Students will learn what to focus for a good job start and adapting to company culture and behavioral norms.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate the skills needed to create, format and tailor a professional resume.
2   Understand effective job search tools and resources
3   Demonstrate understanding of behavioral interview process by participating in practice behavioral interviews.
4   Explain the value of networking strategies relevant to professional development; applying networking strategies to demonstrate effective networking conversations and written communications.
5   Understand how to get a successful start in a job by demonstrating awareness of behavioral norms within an organization
