Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with general understanding of the basic concepts and institutions of law.

1 Legal order; concepts of law and right; other rules regulating society, legal rules and sanctions
2 Sources of law: I Constitution, Codes, Presidential Decrees, International Treaties, By-laws
3 Sources of Law II Customary Law, Judge-made law, Doctrine
4 Public Rights Rights arising from Public Law
5 Private Rights Rights arising from Civil Law
6 Person and Personality I Real Person Real Persons: Beginning and end of personality; persons as subjects of rights; capacity to act; the degree of capacity , Protection of personality.
7 Person and Personality II Legal Persons Legal Personality, legal persons in public and private law, acquisition and loss of legal personality
8 Acquisition and loss of rights, Good faith principle , rule of honesty.
9 Legal events, legal acts, legal transactions
10 The concept of obligation;obligation relationship, liability, contractual liability, torts and unjust enrichment
11 Torts Tortious liabiity
12 Form of contracts, freedom of contract and its limitations, çlassification of contracts
13 Formation of contracts, offer and acceptance,genuineness of intention, simulation and defective intentions , unconscionable contracts Unconscionable bargains.
14 Performance of obligations, discharge of obligations
