Course Objective

The aim of the course is to provide students an understanding of basic concepts of social psychology, such as self, prejudice, social influence, persuasion, group influence behaviors and attitudes, conflict and culture. While basic concepts and topics are examined, an understanding of social thinking, social influence, social relations will be revealed. The course also provides understanding of the foundations, concepts and perspectives of social psychology within the cultural context.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Express knowledge on social thinking, social influence, and social relations experienced by individuals.
2   Review the basic structures of main topics regarding social psychology.
3   Discuss the applicability of social psychology theories to local settings and contexts.
4   Describe different methods to study social issues.
5   Comprehend and integrate course material into their lives.
6   Be aware of different views concerning interpersonal, intrapersonal, and group behavior.
7   Describe ways in which social psychological factors affect social behavior.
8   Develop oral/written communication skills; articulate and defend his/her position.
9   Develop and enhance the essential interpersonal skills to be an effective team member.
