Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with general understanding of the basic concepts and institutions of law.

2   To have knowledge of legal relationships
3   As an individual, to internalize the concepts of rule of law, equality and justice principles and to apply them in their private and professional life.

1 Legal order; concepts of law and right; other rules regulating society, legal rules and sanctions.
2 -Sources of Law: I Constitution, Codes, Presidential Decrees, International Treaties, By-laws,
3 -Sources of Law II Customary Law, Judge-made Law, Doctrine
4 -Righs I Public Rights Rights arising from Public Law
5 -Rights II Private Rights Rights arising from Civil Law
6 Persons and personality I Real Persons Real Persons , beginning and end of of personality, capacity to have rights and duties, capacity to act, the degree of capacity,protection of personality
7 Persons and personality II Legal Persons Legal Personality, Types of legal persons, acquisiton and loss of the legal personality
8 Acquisition and Loss of rights Good faith principle , rule of honesty.
9 Legal events and legal acts Legal Transactions: definition, classification of legal transactions.
10 The concept of obligation; sources of obligation, contracts, torts, unjust enrichment
11 Torts Tortious liability
12 Classification of contracts, form of a contract , contractual freedom and its limitations
13 Formation of contracts, offer and acceptance, genuineness of intention, simulation and defective intentions, unconscionable contracts
14 Performance of obligations , Discharge of obligations
