Course Objective

To profess the constitutional concepts and the constitutional structures, as well as illustrating them with examples and constitutional and political practice. In this regard, a comparative study on the American, British, German, French and Dutch governmental systems and the regimes relating to the European Union and the Council of Europe is aimed to be achieved.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to be able to have a command of the basic principles and institutions regarding the comparative constitutional law.
2   to be able to study the basic principles and functioning of the comparative governmental systems.
3   to be able to analyse the relations between the legislative, executive and judiciary branches in the relevant comparative constitutional orders.
4   to be able to analyse the contemporary political developments from the viewpoint of constitutionalism and/or constitutional law.
5   to be able to analyse the political decision-making mechanisms in comparative political systems from the viewpoint of constitutionalism and/or constitutional law.
