Course Objective

The aim of this course is to know the universal and regional systems in human rights law, to learn the protection mechanisms and remedies, and to analyze their effectiveness and interactions with each other. The course will cover the human rights law systems of regional organizations such as the Council of Europe, the European Union, Organization of American States, and the African Union, as well as universal organizations such as the UN and ICC. The functioning and effectiveness of the protection mechanisms of these organizations will be the main subject, and especially the decisions of the ECHR, which is the most effective protection mechanism, will be focused on.
