Course Objective

Aim of the course is to learn pottery shapes, painting techniques and styles in Archaic Period from the beginning of pottery production in Attica, most important one of the Greek pottery production centers.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define Archaic Attic pottery shapes
2   Explain pottery painting techniques
3   Differentiate the works and techniques of important Attic painters
4   Differentiate the works and techniques of Attic red figure painters
5   Define the special vases like François vase and Panathenaia amphorae and groups
