Course Objective

Learning about the Roman Architecture and Art in the context of sacred spaces, public spaces and private architecture along with their origins and inspritional sources and also the building materials, plans and structure in the context of social life.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Assess Roman period city planning
2   To explain the inspiration for roman city planning with examples
3   To determine the development of roman forum and agora
4   To define the development of roman basilica
5   Learn the correct terminology for architecture in Archaic period
6   To explain roman residential architecture
7   Be able to recognise building materials and techniques.
