Course Objective

To examine and learn the discovery process of archeology and its transformation into a science.
To examine and learn about prehistoric human remains, settlements and cultures in Mesopotamian Geography.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to describe the geography of Mesopotamia.
2   To be able to understand the process of discovery of Mesopotamia by the West.
3   To be able to understand the first archaeological excavations and the process of turning archeology into a science.
4   STo be able to outline the Mesopotamian Paleolithic and Epipaleolithic cultures.
5   To be able to understand the Mesopotamian Neolithic cultures in general terms.
6   Ability to learn the spread of Neolithic culture.
