Course Objective

The aim of this course is to inform students about the origin and formation of natural petroleum as a source of energy and chemical raw materials, the structure and composition of the crude petroleum, petrochemical technology and products, fuel and non-fuel products and their usage.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have information about the petroleum which is source of energy and chemical raw materials source of fossil in nature, the structure and composition of the crude petroleum
2   Have information about classification and resources of petroleum, about how the petroleum is taken
3   Be able to understand petrochemical raw materials derived from petroleum and their usage
4   Be able to associate fuel and petroleum products used as fuel with petroleum-based technologies
5   Be able to have information about non-fuel products, mineral oils, paraffins, asphaltenes and associate them with their technology and usage
