Course Objective

Eliminating the dangers inherent in the business environment by minimizing the risks of employee work-related accidents, prevention of occupational diseases, all kinds of tools used in the workplace, building supplies and machinery and safety, the safety of workers and the business environment, is to provide information on Education and communication in the workplace health safety.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will learn International Legal Framework for Occupational Safety and related establishments
2   Students will have knowledge about creating occupational safety boards in workplaces, inspecting the workplaces and creating workplaces, the rules on workplaces and their add-ons.
3   Students will have general knowledge electrical current and its danger and also fire that may ocur in workplaces.
4   Students will know possible effects of the chemicals in the forms of solid, liquid and gas.
5   Students will know the basic principle of first aid and recognize healt and protection signs.
6   Students will have knowledge related to occupational safety.

Meaningful learning of the basic concepts given in presentations, association of
concepts with each other, establishing the cause-result relationships and making
comments by using the information available for problems and evaluating idea generation
are carried out with mid-term and final exams, active participation to the lecture,
homework.

Assignments will be distributed to students within the first 4 weeks after the start of the education and the students will be collected in return for signature in the last two weeks of the semester.
