Course Objective

The objectives of the course are to provide students to learn aim and scope of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, to learn their duties, powers, responsibilities aimed at ensuring Occupational Health and Security and also to follow and interpret the legal regulation on Occupational Health and Security.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1 Students will learn International Legal Framework for Occupational Safety and related establishments
2   2 Students will have knowledge about creating occupational safety boards in workplaces, inspecting the workplaces and creating workplaces, the rules on workplaces and their add-ons.
3   3. Students will have general knowledge electrical current and its danger and also fire that may ocur in workplaces.
4   4 Students will know possible effects of the chemicals in the forms of solid, liquid and gas.
5   5 Students will know the basic principle of first aid and recognize healt and protection signs.
6   6 Students will learn the symbols associated with chemicals and international labeling system.

Meaningful learning of the basic concepts given in presentations, association of concepts with each other, establishing the cause-result relationships and making comments by using the information available for problems and evaluating idea generation are carried out with mid-term,quiz and final exams, active participation to the lecture, homework.
