Course Objective |
The aim of this course is to introduce the synthesis, processing and characterization methods of polymers used in this field in order to prepare students for technologies related to medical polymers. To illustrate the application areas, and to give special shaping approaches for the application, and to explain especially innovative approaches to the modification of surface properties and the development of materials more suitable for medical application. Biocompatibility, sterilization, possible biofilm formation and approaches that can be applied to reduce/prevent, and especially antifouling/antimicrobial surfaces, which are among the most important issues in medical polymers. |
