Course Objective

The objective of this course is to introduce fundamental logic of sampling and also to make the students gain experience on real life problems. The course covers basic sampling techniques such as simple random sampling, stratified random sampling, systematic sampling and cluster sampling.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describing fundamental elements of sampling
2   Comparing sampling techniques with each other
3   Choosing the appropriate sampling technique for the survey
4   Calculating parameter estimations using appropriate sampling techniques
5   Interpreting obtained results
