Course Objective

This course is designed to introduce and analyze the variety of themes ranging from identity, individual vs society and ethics to American West in selected movies from the directors of both American and world cinema.

1   to identify the distinct styles of selected directors and their movies
2   to analyze various themes and issues in the movies of the directors of both American and world cinema
3   to use technical terminology of cinema in analyzing the movies
4   to write movie analysis with a critical mind
