Course Objective

This course aims to discuss with students the methods and terms necessary for introducing and analyzing the subject of gender. Analyzing selected texts through these methods and terms constitutes the main activity of the course. It is among the objectives of the course to make students aware of gender patterns.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have knowledge about gender studies.
2   To have a basic knowledge of some gender based concepts.
3   To be capable of interpreting primary sources on gender studies and doing textual analysis.
4   To be capable of using course s terminology.
5   To have a basic knowledge of theories used in gender studies and to avoid sexist language.
