Course Objective

The aim of the course is to introduce the definition of mythology and concepts related to mythology; mit types; religion-folk belief-mythology relation; mythology in the world; The sources of Turkish mythology; mythology and shamanism; Turkish mythology-totemism-animism; examples of texts about Turkish mythology; Animal symbolism in Turkish mythology; mythology and art of the relevant publications and images to be examined and understood by the presentation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Knows myth, mythology, myth related concepts and define these concepts.
2   2.Knows religion-folk belief and mythology relationship.
3   3. Knows the world and Turkish mythology and their sources.
4   4. Knows Turkish mythology and shamanism; Turkish mythology-totemism-animism relation.
5   5. Knows animal symbolism in Turkish mythology and examples of Turkish mythology in Turkish Art in Early Age.

5 Turkish mythology systems within the scope of myth and meaning. Presentation of the visuals of the first pictorial examples of Turkish mythology systems
