Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce Turkish Language and Literature teacher candidates to the basic periods of world literature and important literary works through selected texts from Eastern and Western literature and thus to provide them with the knowledge to use these subjects in their future teaching life.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Gains basic knowledge about World Literature.
2   Recognizes the basic classics of eastern literature.
3   Recognizes the basic classics of western literature.
4   Knows similar and different points in eastern and western literature.
5   Knows the direct and indirect relations of eastern and western literatures with Turkish literature.

The success of the student is determined by the midterm and final exam grades. Apart from this, there is no special evaluation criterion.
