Course Objective |
Course Objective: The use of literature in teaching language is the main concern of the course. The analysis of the selected works of poetry and plays originally written in English and the different features of these two genres; the activities which would draw attention to the contents of the literary texts;the use of poetry and plays and teaching of the cultural values;the objects and products in the native and foreign languages from comparative and contrastive point of view ;proverbs and idioms; the clichés including the cultural values;social constructions; the roles and the relationships;traditions;/conventions; beliefs;;values; prohibitions and taboos;certain superstitions of the societies;the political,historical and economical background; the institutions of culture;the use of the figures of speech and irony. |
