Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide the students to learn the Great Seljuk State's political, economic, social and cultural history and undestand the importance and place of this state in Turkish and world history.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to know the primary sources on the history of the Seljuk
2   To be able to sort the political history of the Seljuk Empire in chronological order
3   To be able to compare Great Seljuk Empire to other Turkish-Islamic states
4   To be able to explain the importance of State of the Seljuk for Turks and World History
5   To be able to analyze the interaction of Turkish and Persian culture
6   To be able to interpret the institutions of the common culture founded in Anatolia, Iran and Azerbaijan between 10. and 14. centuries and the functioning of these institutions and their contributions to the next process
