Course Objective

The main purpose of this course is to examine the appropriateness of the content of secondary school chemistry textbooks, to have knowledge about the features and standards that should be in textbooks and to analyze the functioning of textbooks in chemistry teaching from different views.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand the importance of the textbook in an effective chemistry teaching
2   Understand the features that should be in the textbooks
3   Being able to examine the contents of textbooks in terms of their suitability for secondary education
4   Be aware of the contribution of current textbooks to meaningful learning
5   Be able to comprehend the functioning of textbooks in chemistry teaching

Success in the midterm and final exam determines the student's course success grade.

-Participation in 70% of the classes is compulsory. It is the student's responsibility to attend 70% of the courses during the semester.
- The instructor reserves the right to get various exercises done via individual or cooperative learning in the planned education and training period. The effect of the applications to be made in the evaluation process announced to students at the beginning of the academic year.
- Acts within the framework of the relevant regulation regarding unethical behaviours that may occur in classes and exams.
