Course Objective

The aim of this course is to learn the anatomic and histological structures of the respiratory and circulation systems, their physiological mechanisms and to understand the characteristics of lymphoreticular system organs and immune response mechanisms.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe the anatomical and histological structure and embryology of the heart and explain its functional features
2   Explain the anatomical, histological and functional properties of the structures that make up the cardiovascular system
3   Explain the ECG
4   Define the anatomical and histological structure and embryology of the respiratory system and explain its functional features
5   Define the lymphoreticular system, understand the functions of MHC molecules, T and B cells
6   Explain blood flow, blood pressure and its regulation mechanisms, and its connection with relevant physical laws
7   Explain the laws of respiratory gas, surface tension, and compliance
8   Explain immune response mechanisms against microorganisms
