Course Objective

To inform students about myths as the oldest form of cultural consciousness and describe traditional Slavic mythology.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Acquire knowledge about the sources of mythology.
2   2. Acquire historical and cultural knowledge about mythology.
3   3. Understand the influence on Russian Literature by making connections with the main motifs and themes of classical mythology.
4   4. Reveal universal significance of mythology as a part of cultural heritage, which is still important today.
5   5. Gains an idea about the use of myths in places such as beliefs and customs etc.
