Course Objective

This course aims to help students to enhance their vocabulary storage in the field of physical education and sports sciences; to help them understand the publications in their field and to give information on reading comprehension and translation techniques.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to have a general understanding on the basic sentence structures in English
2   To be able to comprehend and translate sentences having different structures into Turkish
3   To be able to enhance the terminology in the field of sports sciences
4   To be able to read and understand texts written in the field of sports sciences
5   To be able to translate the English texts written in the field of sports sciences into Turkish

1 An overview on the basic sentence structures of English and the translations of sample sentences and short texts into Turkish (English tenses, conjunctions, relative clauses, noun clauses, passive voice, etc.)
