Study on History of developing Turks Illumination and equipment of the book arts ,preparing equipment,

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Turkish Illimunation definition, characteristics, informed of its place in the book arts,
2   Similar in the Turkish Illimunation book arts disciplines (Caligraphy, Miniature, Marble art,Binding) in relation to the acquisition of knowledge,
3   Turkish Illimunation book arts (Caligraphy, Miniature, Marble art,Binding) with competence in special areas of expertise to apply their knowledge about the achievements of theoretical conversion.
4   Turkish Handicrafts presentation materials used in the arts of the book (paper, varnish, seal, gold, obtained from a variety of paper colors natural plant waters) and the competence to use these materials to prepare and,
5   Turkish handicrafts, paper painting, varnish, such as making paperboard expected to have knowledge of application areas and techniques.

Course Contents

1 Course introduction, bibliography is given, topics which work on the subjects and material preparation
2 Book Arts' presentation, the content of the paper, the definition, history, book arts, paper types.
3 Dyeing of paper, a variety of juices of plants (tea, linden, walnut,cinnamon, hibüsküs, pomegranate juice, etc.). Papers paint types.
4 Paper-step staining, dried, colorful papers, preparing presentations.
5 Varnish definition, types, construction and applications varnish.
6 Types of gold used in the definition of the Book Arts, brushes,) on the application of the golden varieties of paper.
7 Colored paper, placing Ahern, Ahern starch, shellac Ahern, eggs, paper-driven grouping of Ahern.
8 Seal definition, types, colored paper and varnished paper ,papers polishing.
9 Paperboards definition and their usage
10 Paperboards construction preparation, selection of paper cut to Paperboards

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course involves 1 theoretical course credits; and 1 practical course credits. In the educational year, both a mid-term exam and a final exam are given to the students so as to make them comprehend the course content during the lessons. By means of the exams, how much information given by the books and notes has been grasped, and at what degree the practices related to the designs have been turned into skills will be evaluated. The students will be supposed to prepare an assignment and present it in the course systematics they have grasped.
It is important for the students to attend classes because they can improve their drawing skills and because this applied course is the main course of the discipline the students related to. So, the attendance will be taken into consideration.
At the end of the term, by considering ethical, systematic, organizational and esthetical principles, each student will represent his project with a file including project stages.

Assessment Criteria

Exams will be evaluated out of 100. This grade will be determined according to the number of the questions to be asked in the exams. And also, the project, the assignment presentation and the attendance will be evaluated out of 100.

Participation in courses taken in the course, even those from the course after the start time are taken into consideration the participation of half a course. All entries will be considered above the general rate. Towards the end of each lecture topics will be covered in the next lesson the student is offered as a subject of study and research. The first description of the issue presented in the lesson after the class discussion of research results before the study begins.
