Course Objective

In recent years, in the field of creative industries, art and culture have gained innovative and novel dimensions in terms of both production, and research and development, thanks to digitalization and technological developments. In this course, after first defining what creative industries are, we will discuss how art and cultural production has changed in an innovative, entrepreneurial, and sustainable way through technological opportunities. In this context, this course will focus on a myriad of topics including digital art and culture, Web and computer arts, new technologies, artificial intelligence and generative arts, big data, AR, VR, MR and XR technologies, interactive and immersive technologies, CGI and 3D productions, games, and new visual arts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, students will be expected to have knowledge on the following: What creative industries are,
2   The intersections of art, technology, and cultural innovation,
3   New and digital art and culture production dynamics,
4   The innovative, entrepreneurial, and sustainable opportunities that technology provides for arts and culture, and
5   New forms of artistic and cultural production and consumption.
