Course Objective

Objective of this course, is providing students with comprehending functions of cinema and other mass media in a society in a certain historical process.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of the term student can understand and analyze role of mass media in the society, in which where s/he lives.
2   Student has an ability to know history of popular culture and can analyze popular culture and its products in the society, in which s/he lives.
3   Student can personally understand characteristics of popular films and of unpopular films, and can reflect this gained knowledge to his/her Works.
4   Student can discriminate between informing and leading characteristics of mass media.
5   Student can obtain considerable knowledge about connections between mass media and other institutions in society.
