Course Objective

Analysis of different film genres with respect to aesthetics, structure, form and context. It is aimed to conceptualise the film language with textual analysis related to practically chosen films from different concepts ; and to internalise the subject concerned with the help of various theoretical readings, analysis and seminar works through films.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Conceptualise the film language,
2   Conceptualise the search of meaning through filmic image,
3   Conceptualise the relationship of semiotics, structuralism, psychoanalyses, sociology and cultural anthropology with cinema,
4   Research the relationship between intertextuality and cinema,
5   Make a remark on a film analysis text.
