Course Objective

To help students understand basic concepts and terminology relevant to digital animation. To help students gain proficiency and familiarity in digital animation techniques.

Week Subject Description 1 Students' presentation of their synopses. 2 Students' presentation of their screenplays and reference materials 3 Recording and processing of audio 4 Explaining pose-to-pose and straight-ahead animation; production phase begins 5 Explaining layout and blocking 6 An overview of different techniques relevant to student projects 7 Introduction to procedural/automated animation techniques 8 Introduction to particle simulations 9 An overview of foley sound effects 10 An overview of synchronazing audio and video 11 A brief introduction to compositing 12 Students' presentation of rough cuts 13 An overview of different post-production techniques relevant to student projects 14 Completion and submission of projects; evaluation
