Course Objective

To enable students to understand the definition and principles of rational drug use, and to choose appropriate drugs by considering the effectiveness and cost of treatment. To enable students to write appropriate prescriptions by understanding drug interactions in special situations and multiple drug use.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains and applies the basic principles of rational drug use. Have information about drug use and information. Define and classify frequently prescribed and used drugs. Defines prescription and over-the-counter drug use.
2   Defines prescription and over-the-counter drug use.
3   Have information about the rational use of drugs in special conditions and chronic diseases.
4   Evaluates the effectiveness and cost of treatment in cases related to dentistry and select the appropriate antibiotic and analgesic drug
5   Identifies mistakes that may occur during drug use

Assessment Criteria

1. The student should be able to explain and apply the basic principles of rational drug use.
2. The student should have knowledge about drug use and information, should be able to define and classify frequently prescribed and used drugs, and should be able to define prescription and over-the-counter drug use.
3. The student should have information about the rational use of drugs in special conditions and chronic diseases. The student should be able to give information about the use of multiple drugs and what needs to be considered.
4. The student should be able to select the appropriate antibiotic and analgesic drug by evaluating the effectiveness and cost of treatment in cases related to dentistry.
5. The student should be able to identify the mistakes that may occur during drug use.
