Course Objective

This course begins with the issue of conversion of historic buildings to museums. While exploring the history of the architecture of the museums, it also deals with new requirements and the potentials of new materials and techniques. Examples that will be studied will be both from Türkiye and abroad. In Türkiye, prototypes that appeared depending on some political developments will be analysed. Museum architecture will be discussed from macro to micro, in many dimensions, from its relation to the city to its illumination and its relation with the exhibition in it.
