Course Objective

On the basis of modernization and dependency theories, to provide knowledge on the causes of poverty, its consequences and solutions developed in the fight against poverty and to be able to make evaluations on underdevelopment from a sociological perspective.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to analyze underdevelopment, poverty and its consequences as a social reality and view the issue from a sociology perspective.
2   To gain the ability to interpret social events related to the reflections of poverty and underdevelopment in social life within the framework of sociologists and their theories.
3   To gain scientific competence in enlightening the problems that arise as a result of poverty and underdevelopment.
4   In social life, he / she will think interdisciplinary about underdevelopment and poverty and will have the necessary equipment to benefit from him sociologically.
5   Understand and explain how poverty and underdevelopment occur and develop research projects, perspectives, concepts and gain scientific competence.
