Course Objective

This course enables students to learn basic information and discussions about historical developments, political structures, social and cultural practices of United Kingdom and Ireland and evaluate this information within the framework of translation studies. Moreover, the discussion of concepts such as feudalism, nation and nation states, colonialism, democracy, enlightenment and multiculturalism will enable the students to gain a critical perspective.
