Course Objective

The aim of this course is to analyze the differences and similarities between the concepts of strategy, geostrategy, geopolitics by focusing on the definition and scope of the concept of strategy. In addition, this course aims to create analytical thinking and strategic scenarios by analyzing international energy crises, diplomatic crises, terrorism, conventional and asymmetric wars through the concepts of political strategy, energy security, cyber security, public diplomacy and soft power.

1   Learns the concepts of strategy, geostrategy, geopolitics and political strategy etc.
2   to comprehend tools and methodology of strategy
3   to explore change of the strategy at the world conjuncture of recent era
4   Recognizes the tools of international politics and diplomacy.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Whether the student has knowledge about the topics covered in the course, the ability to evaluate and discuss on the topics will be evaluated by midterm and final exams. Students' ability to follow new developments and their ability to evaluate and discuss them will be measured by the homework they prepare.

Assessment Criteria

LO 1-3: It will be evaluated with the questions to be asked in the midterm exam.
LO 1-5: It will be evaluated with the questions to be asked in the final.
LO 1-5: It will be evaluated with the prepared homework / presentation.

1. It is compulsory to attend 70% of the courses.
2. Presentations and homeworks prepared within the scope of the course must comply with scientific ethics and institute rules.
3. Absence from the class will not be considered as a valid excuse for late submission of homework.
