Course Objective

As a sub-discipline of sociology, Digital Sociology deals with the sub-titles of technology and digitalized social life. In other words, it looks at the effects of technology from a sociological perspective. The rapid rise of the mass media and the use of the internet have brought along new areas of discussion. There are many different issues, from education to identity debates, from law to morality. In this course, current debates in digital sociology, which is a new field, will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   They acquire basic information about the field of digital sociology.
2   Learns theories on technology and social life.
3   Gains a critical perspective on the field.
4   Will be able to relate cultural, political and economic issues with Digital sociology.
5   By gaining a sociological perspective, they can apply research methods and techniques to digital sociology issues.
