Course Objective

To examine the ancient technology that forms the basis of today's technology by creating models and to reflect the technological development from the emergence of the first technological products to the student. To provide the students with the ability to compare the ancient technologies used in the fields of archaeology (architecture, sculpture, ceramics, glass, etc.) with today's technologies in a practical way and thus to enable them to experience the historical and evolutionary development of technology in that field.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. To be able to understand the similarities and differences between ancient and modern technologies.
2   2. To be able to recognise the production techniques in Antiquity.
3   3. To be able to recognise science and technology in ancient times.
4   4. To be able to make experimental archaeological applications.
