Course Objective

To increase students' knowledge and skills regarding creating and implementing exercise programs to improve the fitness and health of people with special needs in the society, the role of the physiotherapist as an educator and health promoter regarding the safe participation of individuals living in society in lifelong exercise, and researching evidence on effective exercise programs.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows prescribing exercise programs to promote health and fitness for those within the community with specific needs.
2   Explains delivering exercise classes to promote health and fitness for those within the community with specific needs.
3   Knows educative and health promotion role of the physiotherapist in promoting safe participation in exercise in the community for all people across the lifespan.
4   Explores and interprets the evidence available for the effectiveness of exercise programs in the community.
5   Synthesises the collected informations and performs verbal and visual presentations about his results.
