Course Objective

To gain knowledge about biostatistical methods frequently used in the process of conducting scientific research in the field of health, to perform statistical analysis in a computer environment, to understand and interpret statistical analyzes and to report analysis results.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understands basic biostatistics concepts.
2   Knows how to create a database and make tables and graphs using databases.
3   Select appropriate hypothesis tests and interprets analysis results.
4   Knows the types of research in the field of health.
5   Calculate proper descriptive statistics.

2 Scientific research stages, use of biostatistics in health services, basic statistical concepts
3 Data description and features, data types:continuous, discrete, ordinal, creating a dataset
4 Data recording-entry, table and graphics
5 Classification of data, variable term (dependent/independent)
6 Standarts of the shape of distribution, normality distribution
7 Research types in health fields
