Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide the context of international HRM, examining the process of globalization, specific issues relating to multinational organizations, such as how and why they transfer practices across operations in different countries, and HR issues in international context, such as management development, pay and reward, and recruitment and selection.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   List the HR challenges of international business.
2   Illustrate with examples how inter-country differences affect Human Resource Management.
3   List and describe the main methods for staffing global organizations.
4   Learn important issues to keep in mind in training, appraising, and compensating international employees.
5   Explain with examples how to implement a global human resource management program
6   Develop oral/written communication skills, to articulate and defend one's position.
7   Develop and enhance the essential interpersonal skills for being an effective team member.
