Course Objective

Teaching of diesel engines, cycles, parts, combustion and fuel properties.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To describe the theory of operation of a diesel engine.
2   Comprehension of the diesel motor cycle, P-V and timing diagram.
3   Comprehension of combustion and fuels calorific value.
4   An ability to analyze lubricating oil.
5   An ability to read technical manuals.
