Course Objective

This course aims to discuss the knowledge and principles of pediatric nurses regarding
care and treatment management in hematological and oncological diseases by integrating them with their roles
and functions related to pediatric nursing, and to improve the knowledge of the child and her family regarding
disease management.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to identify/have knowledge about childhood cancers
2   Knowing symptom management and being aware of evidence-based practices
3   Ability to plan a holistic approach to the child and his family
4   Being aware of the principles of communication and approach with the child and his family
5   Ability to evaluate the follow-up and care during the treatment process of a child with cancer
