Course Objective |
This course includes nursing theories and models which will form a basis for the doctorate thesis topic of the student in the surgical diseases nursing. It ensures students to acquire a comprehensive knowledge in this field and to integrate them into their theses by following the new developments. The course has three theory blocks and one practice block and its first block facilitates comprehensive learning of the information obtained from main resources. Practice program included in the second block facilitates the understanding of how to put the theories and models learned in the surgical diseases nursing into practice. The third block of the course, relevant evidence-based guides and the last literature are examined and integrated into the thesis topic. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
1. Students prepare the nursing model concerning the thesis topic comprehensively in the first block of the course and determine the parts to be integrated into the thesis study and present these as a report. |

Assessment Criteria |
In this course, students will be evaluated in terms of having detailed information on theory/model used in the thesis, describing and analyzing the needs of the surgical patient group examined in the thesis study according to the model, making interpretations by synthesizing their information and conclusions with the results of the relevant studies and sharing these experiences in a national paper. |
