Course Objective

To understand and discuss the main topics of the history of Sufism and thought, methodology, method and problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students understand the location of Sufism in the history of Islamic thought
2   Students understand the structure and properties of Sufi thought
3   Students know how Sufism and Sufi institutions came about
4   Students know major sects, properties and the places to spread
5   Students recognize the impact and representatives of sufi thought at the Seljuk and Ottoman periods
