Course Objective

To understand the role of the sanad and matn in terms of to determine the authenticity of the hadiths narrated by the Prophet Mohammad .

1   The concepts of Sanad and Matn (text) and Criticism in the Hadith Sciences
2   The function of sanad and matn in determining authenticity of hadith
3   The balance of the two parts of hadith narrations in criticism
4   The priority of the matn or sanad in the hadith criticism
5   The application on selected texts of authentic hadith sources
