Course Objective |
In this course, the history of health from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic will be discussed as a whole with its administrative, social and economic dimensions; The development of the health organization within the Ottoman Empire, the diseases seen over the centuries and the actions taken in the fight against these diseases will be revealed. The initiatives taken by the Republic administration, which inherited the legacy of the Ottoman Empire as a whole with its achievements and failures in the field of health, its legal regulations, its fight against epidemics and infectious diseases, and its successes or failures will be presented in detail. |

Evaluating the weekly topics together after re-summarizing them by the instructor in the light of the students' previous readings, and also encouraging students to make short presentations on a topic of their choice during the semester (as much as possible). |
