Course Objective

It is aimed to introduce students characteristics, principales and rules of occupational health and safety in general. By the help of this education, students will be able to immobilize the situation (due diligence) encountered all kind of occupational accident and disease. Also by expalining main characteristics of employer's obligation to take the measures of occupational health and safety it is aimed to recognize the legal problems encountered in work-life and to provide students solve this cases by the help of their
knowledge.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to define employer's obligation of taking measures of occupational health and safety
2   Being able to determine the provisions of occupational health and safety and comprehend bounden procedure
3   Being able to understand fault-based and strict liability of the employer and determine its limits
4   Being able to acquire expertise and information on the occupational health and safety subject by examining the decisions of the Supreme Court and changes in legislation
5   Being able to use the knowledge related to Labor Law and occupational health and safety

2 Basic concepts (Work place, Entreprise, Sub-Contractor)
3 Scope of labor law, definition and types of Employment Contract, Obligations in general
4 Obligations of taking meuasures occupational health and safety of the employer and liability of the employer
5 Tripartite labor relations and liability of the employer related to such relations
6 Occupational and safety at work provisions and regulations
7 Case Study
8 Midterm Exam
9 Duities and responsibilities of the employer related to Occupational health and safety rules
10 Occupational safe and health audit
11 Suspention of work or closing down of the workplace
12 Occupational health and safety committee and Jobsite doctors
13 Rights of employees and their obligations
14 Duties and resposabilities of the employees
