Course Objective

To teach and gain ability to apprehend and comment the students within the context of academic approach with the use basic historical sources by regarding Anatolia's importance for Muslim Turkish History;
- the process of conquest, Turkization and Islamization of Anatolia by the Turks;
- political, military, religious, social, economic, cultural and civic history of Seljukid State of Türkiye, Anatolian Beyliks, and the establishment period of Ottoman State;
- some political, religious and cultural problems of the certain periods and the Turkish-Islamic civilization in Anatolia;
- and by doing so, to create sensitivity and motivation for students those who finish the program to gain ability to create ideas, comments, and suggestions for the understanding and resolution of political, religious, social, academic, and cultural problems faced by Turkish nation and Islamic Turkish world.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students, at the end of the semester, will be able to follow chronologically the process of Anatolia's becoming a Turkish homeland.
2   have knowledge on the political, military, religious, social, and cultural activities caused Turkization and Islamization of Anatolia, and the elements, parts and roles of these activities
3   learn the history, culture and civilization of Seljukids of Türkiye and Anatolian Beyliks and apprehend their importance and place within the history of Turks in Anatolia
4   gain knowledge about the process of the establishment and becoming state and about some issues related this process
5   be able to evaluate, analyze and draw a conclusion to some of modern problems by having knowledge on the importance and position of Turkish history in Anatolia within the Turkish history, Islamic history and general world history.
