Course Objective

To evaluate the religious education policies of the Republican era. Political debates that shaped religious education policies in the Republican era are discussed. In the context of the relationship between religion and state, the reflections of the understanding of secularism on religious education policies and its effects on its implementation are examined.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   They will have general knowledge about the policies and legislations of religious educaiton in Türkiye
2   They understands the discussions that effects on these policies and legislations of religious educaiton.
3   They can analyze the reflections of Laicism principle on religious educaiton.
4   They can make conneciton between these religious education policies with the National Educaiton system.

12 The relaiton of religious education policies with citizenship educaiton.
13 The reflections of religious educaiton policies on recent optional relgius subjects in schools.
